Google’s New Master Plan
Like many other multi-billion dollar corporations, Google has long since based its commercial pursuits on a singular, master plan. The company's vision, it seems, is on the verge of major restructuring.
If you're Google, you have to think it's been a pretty good week.
You've inked distribution deals with SONY BMG and Warner Music, announced plans to build a new R&D plant in Korea, and acquired YouTube in a deal that garnered more media attention than all the upcoming November elections combined.
And it's only Wednesday.
So what's the next big step for the most recognized brand name on the Internet?
Start over from scratch.
Robert Scoble confirmed in his blog today that the Google Master Plan is no more. He goes on to add that the massive flow chart, formerly displayed on a whiteboard in building 41, was reportedly erased sometime last week.
It appears Master Plan 2.0 is currently under development.
What untold exploits does Google plan to pursue in this new vision? If the new focus is anything like Master Plan 1.0, then we're in for quite a ride. It's clear that the leadership at Google has set the bar unspeakably high for its project focus thus far.
Clone armies, teleportation, time travel, and the top secret Skynet project must be nearing completion if the company has decided to draw up new strategies for corporate success.
(And perhaps world domination.)
Rumors abound that the YouTube deal might even pave the way for Google to pioneer an online F Network, featuring 24/7 episodes of Firefly, Farscape, and Futurama.
Google has not yet made an official statement on its role in the Robot - Monkey war.
Personally, I can't wait to pay for my next new car in Goobles. I wonder what the exchange rate will be with the Euro?
Sadly, the Secretary of the Treasury could not be reached for comment.
