Today Talking Xbox, Tomorrow Terminator
So uh, it looks like somebody has found a way to let your Xbox 360 blog about you. The…machine…will blog…about you. I'm gonna need a rope, a chair, and somebody to blog my last words; it's time to go.
Every day my stepson comes running down the stairs announcing he killed a new beast with only a few hit points left, acquired exactly the right weapon, or made out with Fergie and got his rep score up to 90 - or something. I'm not really paying attention. I'm just nodding my head and going, "that's totally rad, bra!"
I'm old at 29. The world is a confusing and frightening place.
And then you read something like this:
Simply enter you Live gamertag and 360voice.com will automatically, based upon what you did that day, create a blog entry for your 360. The blog is updated once a day and even offers RSS feeds to your own, and others 360's blogs.
This is not a Microsoft-sanctioned event. It's the brainchild of a couple of developers named Trapper Markelz and Stephen Sopp, who took on the onus of making our Xboxes talk.
What does an Xbox 360 have to say about you? Here are some samples:

I thought manicprawn just wanted to listen to music or watch a DVD. Turns out he was there to game. With a gamer score of 1305, I should have known that was the case. He played Battlefield 2: MC, as well as checked out what was new in the live marketplace.

Weenis must have a life, because he didn't game yesterday...

a neanderthal is the best. He treats me right. I treat him right. It is a good thing we have going here. Gamer score stands at 2493. Not too shabby! He played Battlefield 2: MC, and after that, called it a day.
What's the point? It's all part of social networking.
Trapper explains:
The whole point is to provide a way to follow the change on a daily basis of your friends. Gamercards are great, but if your friends are playing games and gaining points, it is difficult to tell day-to-day what they are playing and how their scores go up. With 360voice, you can subscribe to the RSS feed of your friends and then you know exactly what happens.
Does Andy Milonakis have something to do with this? Dogs are blogging, too. They changed Nintendo Revolution (a console I'd consider buying for the backwards compatibility) to Nintendo Wii (until now that it's pronounced "weeee!"). And Paris Hilton is still on TV every 5 minutes.
