3 Authors, 2 Founders, And A Xoogler
Google gets the roundtable treatment from SiliconValley.com this week, with lots of all-star talent talking about a variety of topics surrounding the search engine.
In September, longtime media darling Apple enjoyed the focus of several tech insiders during SiliconValley.com's ‘Apple - The Next Generation' roundtable. Now it's Google's turn, and the site has upped the star power this time around with the ‘Googleverse' roundtable.
Stephen Arnold, John Battelle, and David Wise have all written books about the search advertising company. The trio join a number of writers and analysts in assessing all things Google.
Simply Hired founder Gautam Godhwani and Topix.net founder/CEO Rich Skrenta will contribute opinions to the discussion, as will Doug Edwards, a former Googler who writes the Xoogler blog.
We would be remiss in not mentioning Search Engine Watch's Gary Price participating in the roundtable. He's already responded with a lengthy reply to the initial ‘pump priming' question posted by SiliconValley.com's John Murrell; here's Price's thoughts on Google's immediate future:
My guesses today (they might change in a few hours) are travel and music. Two of their major competitors, Yahoo, has a play in both areas with Yahoo Audio Search and Yahoo/Fare Chase travel. Expedia, is owned by IAC/InterActive, the new owner of Ask Jeeves. AOL has a strong music area as does MSN.
