Blogger Offers Comment Moderation
Another tool to help fight comment spam in blogs hosted by Google's Blogger service lets bloggers enable comment moderation for their sites.
Users who post blogs on Blogger can now put up a safety net to catch comments before they get posted online. The Blogger Buzz post noted how comment moderation can be used along with word verification and rel="nofollow" attributes to further discourage comment spam:
By using this feature, you can approve or reject what would-be commenters are looking to post before it goes live on your blog.
This is useful in situations where you're looking for a bit more control over the conversation hosted on your blog.
You can choose to moderate your comments via either email or from blogger.com.
After enabling comment moderation in the Settings - Comments section of Blogger, users can choose whether they want to moderate by email or not. Comments go under a Moderate Comments tab; multiple comments can be published or rejected by clicking checkboxes next to comments before making the choice to publish them or toss them.
