North Carolina Tracking Offenders Electronically
Appriss Inc will provide Durham County with access to JusticeXchange, the nation's largest real-time database of jailed offenders.
A number of law enforcement agencies in Durham County, including the Sheriff's Office and Duke University Police, will have access to JusticeXchange, part of the country's largest privately managed real-time information stores of offender information.
Law enforcement personnel can view offender's prior bookings, post "watches" for people wanted for questioning, and view incident reports on inmates.
Appriss also supports North Carolina's Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification program (SAVAN). The network collects booking and release information in near real time from over 1,000 jails and prisons across the United States and currently tracks more than 66 percent of the offenders held in the nation's county jails and state prisons.
