Microsoft Tilt Wheel Wins A Stevie
The innovative four-way scrolling wheel mouse wins a global Best New Product for 2005 Award.
The International Business Awards, nicknames the Stevies (a Greek word for ‘crowned'), recognized Microsoft's Tilt Wheel mouse as the best product or service for 2005.
Over 600 nominations from more than 30 countries vied for awards in more than 40 categories.
Said Tom Gibbons, general manager of the Hardware Group at Microsoft: "Our Tilt Wheel has set a precedent for our business customers, and we are proud to receive this prestigious award in recognition of the benefits it delivers to businesses worldwide."
Last year's winner in the Best Product category was the BlackBerry 7230 from Canada's Research In Motion.
The four-way mouse makes navigating documents, particularly spreadsheets, much easier than a standard scrolling mouse, as this advance incorporates side-to-side scrolling along with up and down movement.
