Edgy Advertisements Reach The Bathroom
Georgia-Pacific's bath-tissue maker Angel Soft hopes to emulate the online advertising success of other companies.
BMW Films turned up Internet advertising for firms, with star Clive Owen and several top Hollywood directors taking part.
Angel Soft isn't being quite that ambitious with its Angel Soft Presents collection of video clips. For one the clips are very short, only 15 seconds each, and the actors are not name stars like Mr. Owen.
But in an era where reaching consumers with a brand message through typical media has become very difficult, brand names have started turning to the Web.
It is a logical progression, given how millions of potential customers spend more time online and less time watching television.
Toilet tissue doesn't have quite the same emotional impact with consumers as sleek German automobiles. Angel Soft does have the lead on competitors now, and may gain some market share by virtue of that.
