EBay User Threatens Company Executives
Bizarre case of a Romanian native who was upset at the online auction company for not paying him for fraud ends with jail time and fines.
He attempted to defraud eBay with fake affiliate accounts created in Romania.
When the company told him they would not pay for the fraud, Florin Horicianu, a naturalized US citizen, threatened to make them pay dearly.
"I will haunt and hurt you and your family," read one e-mail.
CEO Meg Whitman and other executives were targets of Mr. Horicianu's threats. They did not have any comment after he pleaded guilty in US District Court.
Sentencing will take place in September.
