Tiger Sales Burn Brightly For Apple
Apple devotees line up early to pay $129 for the latest update to OS X and new features Microsoft hopes to match in late 2006.
They waited outside the New York Apple store patiently on Friday, as store employees spent an hour getting ready to disburse the Tiger update to customers.
Some 2,000 customers passed through the New York doors between 6 and 8 pm Friday. Similar excitement was seen at other retailers across the country.
Meanwhile, PC users will have to wait another 18 months for 64-bit computing and possible advanced search features to match Tiger's Spotlight desktop search function.
