Oscar Producer Blogs The Academy Awards
Academy Awards producer Gil Cates is blogging the Oscars on the official ABC Web site.
From Oscar.com:
"Preparations for Sunday night's Oscar telecast are entering their final stages.
More than sixteen hundred men and women are working on various elements of the show, from music and lighting to construction and costumes. It is truly inspirational to work with such a dedicated group of professionals, all operating at the top of their game towards our common goal of presenting to you the very best possible salute to the outstanding achievements in motion pictures during 2004.
At this stage of the production, our amazing director Louis J. Horvitz takes on more and more responsibility for blending together all of the vast efforts that have brought us to this point. Rehearsing the complicated camera moves begin early in the morning and go on until late at night.
As producer, I must answer an endless series of questions about everything from script revisions and talent issues to ticket requests ("THERE ARE NO TICKETS AVAILABLE") and concerns about what Chris Rock might say."
