TIME Magazine's Blog Of The Year
Three co-hosts of a local Minneapolis radio show were honored as TIME magazine's "Blog of the Year."
John H. Hinderaker and Scott W. Johnson publish an internet web log, Power Line, and also co-host a weekly, three-hour radio show called the Northern Alliance Radio Network on AM 1280 The Patriot WWTC-AM. The two contributors used their Power Line site to gather sources that helped prove that a CBS news story regarding President Bush's National Guard service was based on fraudulent documents.
The Northern Alliance Radio Network is made up of Internet bloggers who operate five separate website blogs. Each Saturday, contributors gather in The Patriot's studio to discuss current national and local issues on air, interview guests, and field calls from all over the country and the world.
John F. Hunt, general manager of the Salem Communications stations, AM 1280 The Patriot WWTC, AM 1570 The Patriot II KYCR, and AM 980 KKMS, said that the locally-produced, weekend program has generated national interest and is consistent with the programming offered on the station during the week.
"The success of the Northern Alliance Radio Network has been tremendous. All of the contributors, including those who publish Power Line, offer an intelligent and lively perspective on news of the day. We're proud that John and Scott have been recognized in the new TIME magazine category, Blog of the Year." Receive
