Ask Jeeves Featured In Today's Macy's Thanksgiving Parade
Ask Jeeves internet "butler" in huge balloon form is featured in today's Macy's Thanksgiving day parade seen by millions.
It is estimated that 2.5 million will see the parade in person and approximately 44 million will watch the NBC television broadcast. The New York City based parade is a tradition in the United States pre-dating the advent of television and is a virtual moving broadway production.
The balloon featuring the Ask Jeeves butler had an extreme makeover this year. The butler is now tan, trim and is wearing a new suit.
The butler ballon is 39 feet tall, 70 feet long and 25 feet wide. It takes 50 people to operate the butler ballon. There will also by numerous costumed butler's handing out hot chocolate drinks to the crowd.
"We're an everyday search engine and this seems like a perfect spot for us," said Marcos Sorensen, who came up with the butler for Ask Jeeves.
"Ours is the most enduring of the balloons from the Internet," commented Sorensen.
Interestingly, Ask Jeeves is the only internet company featured in the parade. Receive
