New Local Search Engine Tested By Yahoo!
Search Engine Giant, Yahoo!, unveiled a test version of a local search engine that can give users phone numbers, maps, ratings and reviews for a range of services.
Yahoo's local search, which came available late Monday night Pacific Time, instructs users to search for a specific service, such as "restaurants or "dentists," along with a location, and then returns results like business name, address and phone number, as reported in wire services.

Much like Google, Yahoo hopes to capitalize on the local search market, which could possibly be worth billions of dollars.
The new search engine will allow users to refine their results by rating, distance from specific point and other factors, to get a better overall understanding.
