Google News Typo Delivers Shifty Results
A recent search on "Mac" in Google News brought an interesting letter omission from one result. This brings a question to mind: does Google monitor the content of their results?
An article in MacFixIt.com titled New and Noteworthy: Apple seeing shift in developer profile; Mac networkers retreat conference announced; more was crawled by Google News and appears on the results page, minus one important letter.
The Google result omitted the "f" from the word shift, giving the title of the article a whole new meaning.
This may surprise or anger users who are worried about adult language appearing on their searches. But more than that, one has to wonder what precautions does the search engine giant have in place to catch such errors. Receive
