Search Engine Optimizing Toward The Hispanic Community
There has been a running discussion among the SEO community about whether or not going through the efforts of optimizing web content for Hispanic visitors is a valid exercise. Some believe that optimizing and marketing towards a community that isn't known as being search engine savvy (a misconception) isn't a worthwhile endeavor. Directory:

Protecting Your Trademarks: Who's Job is It?
Concern over trademark protection is growing steadily among online advertisers. Who's responsibility is it to protect your trademarks? Should the trademark holders be expected to spend ad dollars to buy their own trademarked terms? What kinds of things should/could search engines do to help alleviate the problems? Directory:

Keyword Density: How Much Is Too Much
Copywriting for search engines is one of the more important aspects of the SEO industry. Ensuring your content is relevant and keyword rich is an effective method to "impress" the search engines. By impress, I mean that the majority of search engines value optimized content with keyword-laden text. However, if you have too much keyword density, Google and others can consider this spam, and may penalize your site. Directory:

Managing AdWords Campaigns With High Keyword Volume
When conducting a search engine advertising campaign, keyword management can be one of the most crucial and complicated aspects advertisers have to prepare for. During the San Jose SES conference, most, if not all, search engine representatives stressed the importance of relevant keyword selection, and how it can be the difference between profit and loss. A Look At Yahoo’s Local Search Beta
On August 3rd, Yahoo launched their Local Search Beta product. Yahoo Local is designed to serve as and perhaps replace the Yellow Pages, both Internet and book-based. The local search integrates Yahoo's search technology, as well as Yahoo's mapping function to help locate information on your local area query. Directory:

Is Yahoo Search As Effective?
Organic search engine listings, to some, are the equivalent of life-blood of many sites. With Google and Yahoo driving the search engine industry, gaining respectable organic listings within is considered to be golden. In fact, Rustybrick of SERoundTable.com, states that Google "provides over 70%" search engine traffic that his site receives. Compare this to Yahoo Search, which is only responsible for 10% of his traffic. Directory:

Yahoo To Keep Site Match
Paid inclusion in search engines is a concept that seems to be going the way of dodo. During this summer, MSN and Ask Jeeves/Teoma have decided to shelve their paid inclusion programs. However, as we learned during the interview Brittany and I conducted with Yahoo's Ken Norton and Grace Chen, Yahoo has no intention of giving up these aspects of their search service. Directory:

Let's (Google) Dance!
Hear me! For I have been to the mountaintop…
Tuesday night's SES mixer in San Jose was highly anticipated by most attendees. It was, after all, the Google Dance -being held at the Googleplex no less. At roughly 6:30, the tour busses started to line up outside the main convention center to begin shuttling attendees to the land of the giant. Needless to say, I think everyone went. Directory:

Exclusive Yahoo Interview pt.1
Chris and I just spent an hour talking with Yahoo's Ken Norton and Grace Chan in a private meeting room in Yahoo's little purple booth, here at the Search Engine Strategies Conference. This is news to me, but I learned at this conference that Yahoo's official color is purple. In fact, Ken and Grace revealed a little known fact that the only reason the Yahoo! Logo is red is because they couldn't find a shade of purple that looked right. Yahoo's new branding strategy includes a deep purple background with the Yahoo! logo clearly contrasting in strong white letters. The company has also been sending promotions people from San Francisco to this conference wearing huge purple jumpsuits - which, I've heard, are uncomfortably warm. Directory:
