Exposing Your Web Business Using Social Media
1. Facebook If you have not heard of it, and worse yet if you are not on it, you just don't have a chance to keep up with the competition. Chances are, your competing brands are on the mega power social media site and if you are not, well, I would rather not mention what the consequences will be for you business wise. Facebook isn't just for individuals anymore. Yes, there are still the occasional peeps that really say, "I like Facebook to keep in touch with mom and grandma," but most people do like to check out their favorite brands and businesses too...this is 2010 not 2008. Lord Mandelson’s Digital Economy Bill Seeks To End Anonymity On The Web
There are powerful online trends at work sweeping away anonymity as a default position, creating many commercial opportunities for those with a light enough touch. Firstly, there's Facebook, the web's 800lb social gorilla. Zuckerberg's service has given four hundred million people around the world an online identity and the norm is for users to provide 'real' information. And it's an identity that increasingly follows you around the web, thanks to Facebook Connect. Then there's the booming mobile web. Directory:

Comparing NoSQL And RDBMS For Large Database Structure
The last few weeks I have witnessed a ton of passionate debate about what is better, NoSQL or RDBMS. It almost sounds like a religious battle between Windows and Mac fan-boys. To me this is like arguing that a hammer is better than a screw driver. If you need to pound a nail, I'll take the hammer. If you want to turn a screw, I'll take the screw driver. Directory:

Focusing Your Company As A Whole On Internet Marketing
Who owns the Internet? Obviously no one actually owns the Internet, but this is a question that I hear every day from big companies, because they want to know which organization within the company should take the lead with all Internet work. Big companies fail in Internet marketing every day because they waste time answering that question instead of just using the Internet. Directory:

There is a fundamental problem among social media experts today. Pegasystems Acquires Chordiant To Unify Customer Treatment And Marketers

Reaping The Rewards Of Long Tail Keyword Research
Keyword Research - another oldie but goodie. To reap rewards from a good SEO campaign, you need to select powerful keyword that have high volume and are attainable in terms of rankings. Simultaneously, you can also search for "long tail" keywords that are highly targeted, even if they have very low volume. The traffic from long tail keywords have to convert at an extremely high ration. We see this all too often: people running high budget campaigns to websites that have not implemented appropriate keyword research and selection. This minimizes the benefits gained from a link popularity and SEO campaign. Directory:

Study Shows Who Is More Loyal To Your Brand
Several months ago I read a piece of research in the Journal of Marketing that I found both surprising and believable at the same time. In fact, the conclusion of this research made such an impression, I clipped a report of it and put it on the board beside my desk as a reminder of one important difference when marketing to women versus men that many small businesses completely ignore or forget about. The research explored the idea of customer loyalty, and uncovered that (on average) men were far more loyal to an organization or group than any single individual within it - and for women this finding was the opposite.
