Content Quality and Link Popularity
I ranked high in the search engines with Altavista and msn there for a while but I lost my ranking due to my change of real estate practice location. Right now, I am trying to target Dallas Real Estate instead of Plano Real estate, Dallas Homes, instead of Plano homes. Allthough I ranked high with Altavista, I am nowhere to be seen on Google.com, and that's where I really want to be! Can you tell me how DallasRelo.com, ranks #1 in Google.com for the search term "Dallas Real Estate" when the quality of information provided is horrible in comparison with mine? Also, if his website is recommended more by other websites, is there a better way to get ranked?

Linking Campaign Increases Google PageRank But Only if Google Knows - So Tell Them!
A client recently contacted me pointing out that their linking campaign was starting to pay off handsomely by gaining links at a nearly astounding rate of about 200 a week! He asked how he could be certain that those sites that linked to his were spidered and indexed by the search engines, thereby increasing his PageRank at Google. Those of you who'd like a primer on PageRank can visit the following URL's to learn more.

Google Ranking Tips
Google is by far the most popular search engine available today for both ordinary surfers and webmasters. Surfers like it because of the highly relevant results it gives, and the speed it gives them at. This is due to its complex text matching algorithm and of course the PagerankT system that this engine uses. More on the PagerankT system later.

Google, which is used more than 150 million times per day to conduct searches has announced its entrance into the pay per click arena with the recent introduction of its new "Ad Words Select" program. The old "Ad Words" Program was based on paying per impressions of your ad, not clicks, thus the addition of the word "select."

Getting Back To Search Engine Optimization Basics
When starting any SEO campaign it is tempting to leap straight in and start tweaking meta tags and changing text. However, like any successful marketing strategy, it is vital to ensure that you know whom your audience is and how to reach them. In the same way traditional advertising agencies survey their demographic audience, search engine marketers must ensure that their SEO campaign targets the correct keywords or search phrases. Target the wrong search phrase and you could end up with great search engine rankings for keywords that have no search requests. A few hours now spent ensuring that the correct search phrases are targeted, can save months of useless optimization.

The Four Pieces to the Search Optimization Puzzle
Hi Dan, The clients I have now came primarily by word of mouth, although three did find me on the web -- through Microsoft Front Page. If you type in "spideree" in Google search, I'm in the first 8 listings, but I'm not even in the first 10 pages when you type in "web design" + "New Jersey."

Relevant Keywords are Essential to Success
Keywords are single words or phrases that people use when they call on their favorite search engine to find something. When a Web search is performed, several things usually happen. First, listings and descriptions of Web sites appear. Banners may display at the top of the screen, and other banners -- called skyscrapers -- may appear on the right side of the screen. When a company uses a pay-per-click (PPC) campaign to improve its search engine ranking, it bids on the placement and positioning of their site -- typically referred to as a “sponsored site” – in a ranked list. Since this type of advertising is directly tied to the keyword(s) entered for a search, these keywords are critical for success. As a matter of fact, without the proper keywords, your campaign is doomed to failure!
