Web site strategy: Buy or Goodbye
The first popular strategy for e-business websites we are about to discuss could also be described as a "Sale Focused". The vastly known description to that kind of online presence is "mini-sale-site". I wouldn't support that description as I don't think it is complete enough. The term "mini" usually refers to a one-two-three page website, the only purpose of which is to sell some product/service. I should put here a big "BUT". On the contrast to that meaning, I could give you numerous examples of content rich websites with two to three pages of 5-10 power articles and a site that consists of 20-50 pages of blatant sales letters.

One Click from Departure: An insider’s guide to retaining your website visitors
Call me a cynic, but I'm astounded at the number of firm's that after having invested a significant amount of time and money to develop a successful web site are then willing to forfeit the very element that brought them their success in the first place, if you had guessed I'm talking about their traffic - you're right. With the explosive expansion of the web, and an ever growing proliferation of web sites, the ability of sites to a) Attract Visitors and b) Retain Visitors is of greater significance now than ever before. Web Traffic has become a commodity, bought, sold, traded and brokered for "pennies per click" by firms looking to promote their client's goods, services or causes to the very same demographic profiles that make your web site successful in its own right.

Want to Keep Your Customers? Sign Them Up for a Service Contract!
With loyalty programs and other customer retention initiatives popping up everywhere these days, many small business owners ask themselves the question "What should I be doing to retain my clients?" Since you don't have the resources to launch a brand new loyalty program for your business, you may not be able to compete toe-to-toe with the expensive loyalty programs offered by large companies to draw customers in and keep them, such as "AirMiles" programs. An Overlooked Advertising Opportunity For Web Publishers
When you have an online business you need to utilize every possible avenue of advertising and promotion. As I sign up for more ezines and discussion groups, I am finding numerous publishers are overlooking a very effective and fr~e advertising opportunity. After I sign up for an ezine or email discussion group, I await the welcome letter for guidelines and to learn a bit more about the ezine/website/webmaster. Too often all I get in the welcome letter is the standard default letter. No personal welcome, no introductions, no links to check out and no email.

Froogle presents a list of dog collar photographs, brief descriptions, prices, and links to each site that sells dog collars. Now, who's that at number one for dog collars? How to Grow Your E-Mail List
Most financial institutions have profitable client relationships they've built over the years. They know how many products their customers own and keep customer contact records. E-commerce strengthens this customer relationship further. It allows you to assess customer interests real-time. It frees up your time for face-to-face relationship-building with your best customers, while not neglecting the rest of your customers.

Share Marketing Costs, Boost Profits
The challenges of the small business owner are well documented. They must battle for market share against larger competitors, run all aspects of their business, and even pay higher rates for advertising and other marketing related expenses. Small businesses generally do not qualify for volume discounts when it comes to buying advertising space or marketing materials, and thus they end up paying higher rates for the same ad space or marketing materials purchased by their corporate counterparts.

Networking: Making the Most of Your Connections!
"The greatest achievement of the human spirit is to live up to one's opportunities, and to make the most of one's resources." Vauvenargues Frequently the greatest opportunities and resources available to us sit quietly waiting to be tapped, continuously present, and yet often unrecognizable. What is this greatest of all resources? It is simply our human connections; the people we see every day, the ones we see occasionally and those we meet by chance. Each represents one of the greatest resources known to man but are often overlooked. We are told instead to search for ways to make our businesses grow, bypassing the most important method, which is always right in front of us.

What is a real life story? It is just what it says, a story about the real life of an interesting person. Why can't you be that real life interesting person in your advertising? When you read advertising online, much of it is the same old hype that every other online ad uses. But a real life story set your ad apart from the rest? YES! To be effective, you must create an effective story. Your story is what will keep people reading. And then when you weave your product into the story, it makes a much more compelling ad copy.

Essential Internet Business Software
An essential part of running a successful Internet business is quality software. Software will play a major role in your success. You must be willing to invest in the software you'll need to assist you in running your business. Email Program The first and most important software you'll need is a quality email program. Although most Internet Service Providers include email accounts for their customers, these accounts aren't adequate for an Internet business -- especially if you get a large amount of email. Not only do the email addresses contain your ISP's name, but they are also very limited on features and options.
