Sony Ericsson Sales Exceed Expectations
Sony Ericsson reported a higher than expected growth in fourth-quarter sales thanks to 3G handsets and camera phones.
Sony Ericsson reported a 28% increase in profit as the company shipped more new mobile phones to retailers.
"Sony Ericsson continues to be profitable and at a nice level, not all players can do that in this fiercly competitive industry," stated Jari Honko, analyst at eQ Bank.
"With the overall strong performance, we took the opportunity in Q4 to invest more in strengthening our brand," Jan Wareby, the company's executive vice president told Reuters.
This is the sixth quarter in a row that the company has reported a profit. Before that, they had steadily been losing money since 2001.
The company predicts that the market demand in 2005 will slow down. Receive
