Chris McFarlane's review of inexpensivescrubs.com
Chris McFarlane's review of inexpensivescrubs.com

Why do I have five windows open?

My task bar was suddenly crowded after I looked at a few items, checked the size chart, and then checked for availability. There is no need to spawn new windows when you plan to maintain your major navigation within the spawned windows. Popping new windows up is generally disorienting and in this case a bit bothersome to clean up.

Availability of availability data

Apparently you have some kind of database kicking around that provides the data for your availability page. If you pop in a little bit of scripting you should be able to display accurate availability data along side the product in question instead of redirecting visitors to a difficult to read table of availability data.

Featured Items

$14.99 for a 65/35 poly cotton scrub set w/soil release finish? I want one! But wait… I can’t get to it from here. Are you teasing me or do you really have one? Link the descriptions of the items featured on your home page to the shopping cart entry for that item. Don’t make people hunt, give them easy access to what they want.

Visit us often…

Why not say, “Tell us who you are and we will email you with special offers and updates to our product line.” In the fine print you say “Visit us often for new additions to our line.” Instead of asking people to check back now and then, why not find out who they are and send them a teaser email when your product line changes or you have a special sale. You want to know who they are and they’ll tell you if you can give them a better deal.

Be Robot Friendly

“Home of the inexpensively priced scrub” is a great tagline, make sure the search engines can find it. Put a descriptive alt tag behind each of your images to increase the chance that the search engine robots pick up on your keywords.

Trust

Are you a member of the Better Business Bureau or some other trustworthy organization? If you are, mention it.
