Ellen Rennels's review of inexpensivescrubs.com
Ellen Rennels's review of inexpensivescrubs.com

Content counts!

While correct techno stuff is crucial for search engine placement, site content is the element that will make the sale once the visitor gets there and this site is missing many opportunities. First of all, from a user standpoint the site seems to have about twice as many pages as it needs. This is particularly apparent when I see that every page with the photos of scrubs has exactly the same line of text. That’s a clear indication that some consolidation is necessary and/or that you need to find a whole lot more to say about your products. The company needs to decide what sets it apart from competition and make a better case for why the visitor should make the buy. If price is the major draw, be more specific – “same high quality as everywhere else but at half the price.” And, I’m quite put off by the line “we don’t have a catalogue.” Makes the operation seem half-hearted or hokey, especially when I see the limited product line. There’s no reason to not publish a very simple catalogue. From studying some competitors, looks like you need to have some kind of special deal, maybe free shipping for orders over X amount, or free shipping for repeat customers, something as an extra edge. And when it comes to marketing, I assume you’re buying some print advertising in some nursing school newsletters, etc. Technology expands the horizons but the words and content will still make or break the deal.
