Proctor and Gamble has launched a new web site geared toward women called Capessa.yahoo.com. P & G Productions along with Yahoo and the Zizo Group created the site. The online community is a place where women can share stories, tips and information that apply to their lives.

Capessa comes from the Latin word "Capesso" which means, "to strive to reach a place". This is PGP's first introduction into the digital realm and consumer-generated content.

According to Jim Stengel, P&G, global marketing officer, "The creation of Capessa follows P&G's mission to improve the lives of the world's consumers in meaningful ways, every day." He continues, "This website provides women with relevant information that connects to their specific interests and adds value to their lives."

P &G hopes the new site will allow them to discover more about the product needs and interest of women. The goal with Capessa is to become more relevant in the lives of consumers.

Capessa will launch in the Yahoo Health section of Yahoo.com Topics will include parenting, pregnancy, weight loss, relationships, career, healthy living, and care giving. The content posted online will be user generated. Women will be able to chat, blog, post and view video.

"Capessa.com is an innovative example of how companies are strategically innovating with digital media," adds Roger Fishman, founder and president of The ZiZo Group. "Developing sustainable digital business models provides new ways to listen to, learn from and engage with online communities and is key for long term brand-building."
