Searching For Commando Pics
There's a lesson to be learned here - if you are a fallen pop star that's getting loads of bad press because of a tabloid fodder marriage, there may be a way to reclaim your buzz - show the paparazzi what's underneath your skirt. Just ask Britney Spears.
I'm not going to delve into the year that was for the former Mrs. K-Fed because sites like Fark.com have done a brilliant job documenting it. However, one particular event pushed Spears back to the top not only in the public's eye but in the search engine world as well.
Because WebProNews is not a gossip rag, I'll spare you details surrounding the event in question. Let's just say a photographer who was in the right place at the right time got the photo opportunity seen around the world - an upskirt picture of Ms. Spears minus any underwear.
Once these images leaked, everyone with Internet access apparently ran to their computers and searched them out, helping make Britney Spears the most popular search of 2006. According to Yahoo's Buzz blog, not only have searches for the ex Mrs. Federline increased, searches for celebrity upskirt pics featuring Lindsey Lohan and Paris Hilton have jumped up as well.
From a social aspect, there isn't much analysis to be done over this subject. Guys like seeing naked women and the fairer sex likes seeing tramps (not my term) fall from grace. However, the Spears upskirt pics are a perfect definition of linkbait - create something people will want to link to and watch its popularity take off. That sounds exactly like what's been going on over at the Britney Spears experience.
