The Search Engine Strategies shows will continue to enjoy Danny Sullivan's participation through 2007.

Sullivan and Incisive Media have reached an agreement that will keep the well-known conference host and search engine commentator in place at the successful Search Engine Strategies conferences for another year.

Incisive issued a statement about the new agreement:

This past August, Danny Sullivan, who has always been an independent contractor, announced his intention to step away from active involvement with SES at the end of 2006. Since then, both parties have remained in contact and have reached an accord to extend their relationship through 2007.

Speaking about the news today Danny Sullivan said, "I very much look forward to working with Incisive Media on the SES events next year. The search industry loves gathering together at them, and I am very glad to continue on as a part of that."

Tim Weller, founder and CEO of Incisive Media stated, "Search is a dynamic, growing global industry. We have the market-leading brands, excellent content, and a rapidly growing community in the search market. We wanted Danny to be involved going forward, and I'm delighted that he will continue to do so."

When Sullivan first disclosed in late August he would depart Incisive Media, and leave the conferences and blogging for Search Engine Watch behind, he indicated a need for "long-term incentive" to stick with the company.

In our conversation with the search expert, he reiterated his intent to depart but held open the chance that he would still work with Incisive and SES.

However, through his personal blog and a confirmation email, Sullivan stated he will not write for Search Engine Watch beyond November 30th, and posted some further commentary about that on his blog:

How about Search Engine Watch? No change there. November 30 remains my last day. Instead, I expect to continue writing about search as I always have via a new search blog. I should have more news on this in about three or four weeks. Similarly, I plan to do some search-related events of my own. Stay tuned, and I promise to bring more details when I can share them.

Sullivan enjoys the respect of the search industry, so many industry observers expect to see him establish himself successfully on his well-established reputation.
