A Legal RSS Feed?
Law.com released its own RSS reader on Monday, named NewsPoint. A free download, the application will come with preloaded content from Law.com and the Law.com Blog Network.
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds simplify the task of gathering and displaying information updates from multiple Web sources. RSS readers, such as Law.com NewsPoint, allow online users to customize their news reading experience by consolidating information from priority sources selected by individual users.
"The Law.com NewsPoint reader enables members of our growing community to take immediate advantage of RSS to stay on top of emerging developments across the legal field," said Stacey Artandi, vice president, online publishing for ALM, Law.com's parent company.
The feeds aren't limited to legal news, however. The NewsPoint application also allows users to receive content from any news or information source that offers RSS feeds.
The newsreader was created jointly with Consenda, a developer of software systems for the delivery online content.
