60 Minutes announced a preview of its new arrangement with Yahoo at the end of their Sunday broadcast.

Ed Bradley concluded a long double segment which featured a profile of golf legend Tiger Woods by saying, "For a preview of our new relationship with Yahoo go to Yahoo.com and type Tiger Woods in the search box. The relationship which was revealed last week is launching in the Fall.

The page links to additional unseen footage of the Tiger Woods interview, FlickR photos of Tiger, and other Tiger news and information available within the Yahoo portal.

It's an unprecedented experiment on the merging of prime time television with the Web. I think the key is playing to one of the strengths of the internet ... unlimited space and time, by offering more footage of interviews. The site is sponsored by Buick.

Excerpt from the Tiger Woods - Yahoo site:

Did You Know?

  1. Tiger always wears red on the final day of a tournament because his mom feels it is a powerful color.

  2. The nickname "Tiger" was given to him by his father, Earl. This is the same nickname Earl gave to a Vietnamese friend and soldier while serving in Vietnam. Tiger's birth name is Eldrick T. Woods.

  3. At age two, Tiger putted against comedian Bob Hope on the Mike Douglas Show.

  4. Tiger shot a 48 for nine holes at age three, and was featured in Golf Digest when he was five.

  5. On June 15, 1997, at age 21, Tiger became the youngest golfer to be ranked number one.

  6. After winning the 2005 Open Championship, Tiger became only the second golfer in history, after Jack Nicklaus, to have won all four majors more than once.

  7. Tiger had one of the most remarkable amateur records in golf history. He won the NCAA title and six USGA national championships before turning pro.
