Performancing Launches Metrics Service
Nick Wilson announced the debut in public beta of the Performancing Metrics service aimed at professional bloggers and their blogs.
He described the Performancing Metrics arrival as being accompanied by "tweaking, finalizing and no small amount of hair pulling and shouting," but the service is now live for users who register for it.
After registering and/or logging in, users can obtain code for their blogs, and in two or three hours (Wilson encourages patience) data should begin appearing in the system. Performancing Metrics offers several features, a few of which Wilson highlighted for special notice:
• Add multiple blogs - really, add as many as you want. In a couple of weeks, we'll be able to show you the aggregate data for your entire network also.
• Subscribe to your metrics RSS - the little RSS buttons top right will give you a daily summary of your Metrics.
• See Adsense data - Running Adsense? You'll like this one then, and we plan to improve it, aswell as support other ad systems in the future.
• Search Engine Details - Find the Search Engines page, then click on the actual phrase to get drill down data on each search phrase.
Support for the service via a handbook or a Metrics forum can be found on the Performancing Metrics page. They also wish to collect feedback from users as Performancing works on improving the service.
In the blog entry Wilson created to announce the service, several commenters have already made a feature request for self-filtering, so their IP addresses don't skew the overall metrics. We're betting this gets tackled very soon.
