EBay Stores Get RSS, Users Get Research
eBay users who prefer one or more stores run by eBay sellers will be able to subscribe to feeds for those stores, and see their new offerings via their feedreader of choice.
IDG news noted eBay's recent announcement of the RSS feed functionality added to eBay stores. Sellers can enable feeds for their sites, and users can subscribe from the RSS button that will be displayed.
Ebay's Arturo Zacarias disclosed on eBay's site that RSS would be made available in other areas of the online auctioneer.
One option that would be nice to see would be a custom feed users could create to track specific product categories and search terms on eBay.
Ebay also made its Marketplace Research service available. For a fee, sellers or buyers can purchase one of three tiers of research on items and price trends.
A variety of metrics can be researched. Users can see top searches for categories or all of eBay. 60 to 90 days of historical data will be available, based on the tier of service purchased.
