Next week, intellectual heavy hitters from both sides of the Google Print for Libraries debate will be squaring off at the New York Public Library for a "discussion" about the competing interests and issues raised by the project. This could get ugly, and you can see it for as little as $10.

As announced on NYPL's website, the discussion is co-presented with Wired Magazine and brings together representatives from Google, the Association of American Publishers, Authors Guild, and Stanford Law. The event is scheduled for Thursday, November 17, at 7:00 PM EST. Tickets can be purchased for $15, or $10 for library donors, seniors, and students.

The Blue Corner:

Google's Vice President of Corporate Development, David "Double D" Drummond, who also serves as general counsel. Drummond believes the Google Library project is a good thing;

New York Public Library's President and CEO, Paul "La Bamba" LeClerc is tag teaming the event with NYPL"s Director and Chief Executive of Research Libraries, David "The Fury" Ferriero. The NYPL is one of the libraries offering up all or part of its library for scanning in the project.

The Red Corner:

Association of American Publishers' Vice President for Legal Governmental Affairs, Allan " Ali" Adler, whose organization recently filed suit against Google.

Authors Guild President and best-selling author, Nick "Chuck" Taylor, will join his literary industry colleagues. Authors Guild has also filed suit to stop Google Print.

The I Don't Know Whose Corner They're In Corner:

WIRED Magazine's Editor-in-Chief, Chris "Sweet" Anderson.

Stanford Law Professor, Lawrence "I Am The Law" Lessig, Founder and Chairman of of Creative Commons, and the author of Code, The Future of Ideas, and Free Culture: The Nature and Future of Creativity.
