Mobile Phone Virus Appears In US
Users in Twenty countries have reported outbreaks of the Cabir virus, which spreads from phone to phone.
Beware of downloading files to your phone sent from other phones. The Cabir virus seems to not do anything beyond sending itself to other phones and draining battery power. But it is still a pest as it tries continually to access other cellphones.
Cabir doesn't spread easily; it requires a user to accept a connection to an infected phone and then allow the file to be downloaded.
As with e-mail, don't download items from strangers, or even from friends if you aren't expecting them to send you something.
