Nvidia Sees Fourth Quarter Growth
Graphics hardware company Nvidia, is slowly chipping away at competitor ATI's hold on the graphics card market share, thanks to a strong fourth quarter.
According to GameSHOUT.com, Nvidia added 3 percentage points to their overall graphic chip market share, increasing it to 18%. ATI is still the leader of the graphics "industry", holding a 27% portion of the market.
The desktop chip sector's discrete segment saw Nvidia nudge back towards its Q2 share of 58 percent from Q3's low 42 percent share. During Q4 it accounted for 46 per cent of the market. ATI's still in the lead, but its share slipped from 55 per cent in Q3 to 51 percent in Q4.
Nvidia took 25 percent of the standalone notebook chip market in Q4, up from Q2's 22 percent, while ATI's share slid slightly to 69 percent from 72 percent. Receive
