Apple Introduces New PowerBooks
A very busy month has finished for Apple with the introduction of their faster PowerBook models, which were introduced today.
Not only did Apple speed up the new PowerBooks, they've also reduced prices to as low as $1499. The new PowerBooks feature G4 processors, capable of speeds up 1.67 gigahertz. They also include faster hard drives and Apple's SuperDrive.
According to CBSMarketwatch:
"Apple will now offer two versions each of its 12- and 15-inch PowerBooks that come with either a CD burner and DVD player combination drive or a CD and DVD-burning drive. A 17-inch PowerBook will have the CD and DVD-burning drive as standard. All the models come with a standard 512 megabytes of SDRAM memory.
The new PowerBooks start at $1,499 and $1,699 for the 12-inch models that come with 1.5-gigahertz G4 processors; $1,999 and $2,299 for the 15-inch models with 1.67-gigahertz G4 chips, and $2,699 for the 17-inch model running a 1.67-gigahertz chip.
Apple said the PowerBooks will also come with a scrolling track pad. Dragging two fingers across the pad allows the user to scroll through Web pages and other documents similar to how a scrolling wheel works on most computer mice.
Additionally, the notebooks come with a sudden motion sensor technology that can detect when the computer is being dropped and protect the hard drive from crashing." Receive
