Google Headhunting SEM Talent
If Martha Stewart's low-rated Apprentice show gets axed early, perhaps SEO marketer David Karandish can wrangle an interview with Google.
Now that Yahoo has signed former Carat executive Ron Belanger onto its search marketing team, ClickZ reports Google has begun looking for similar search executive talent itself. MSN has reportedly been making inquiries of its own to fill positions at MSN Advertising.
ClickZ claims they have been contacted by several search agency execs, who in turn claim to be the focus of much love from Google-hired headhunters.
"We've been getting calls from headhunters looking to fill several roles at Google," one SEM exec told ClickZ. "Who better to help them work with agencies than someone who knows the space from the inside?"
Google has been known for its efforts at educating search marketers on its products. Its outreach program teaches search agency staffers how Google's products function and touch on topics like search engine-friendly strategies. These agency staffers then emerge knowing how to better sell clients on investing in products like AdWords.
