Search Marketing Showing Signs Of Growth
Marketing research firm, MarketingSherpa release the results of the online advertising study last week. There's plenty of good news for search engine advertisers and marketers because the survey shows substantial growth in the industry.
The survey, covering over 3,200 marketers. In the summer of 2004, MarketingSherpa did the same study covering 3,007 participants and 34% rated their PPC ad results as "very good." This year the study with 3,271 respondents, had 43% rating their experience as "very effective."
Search optimization (SEO) campaign satisfaction didn't fare nearly as well. Last year 31% of surveyed marketers said SEO results were very good. This year 33% say SEO is very effective. Yes, it's a gain, but only two points. (We suspect folks are getting a bit fed up with the never-ending Google dance.)
One noteworthy point is mentioned is click fraud. They said that while they didn't measure that statistic last year, only 7% thought it was a big problem already.
The study contained a lot of other useful information, all of which can be viewed at the MarketingSherpa website.
