MSN Adds RSS Search Operators
Making MSN Search more blog friendly, the number 3 search engine pushed out two new search operators for RSS and Atom feeds, eliminating the need for complex queries.
Robin Good's blog reveals an email head-up from the search team at Microsoft detailing the new search operators for MSN: feed and hasfeed.
The feed operator, feed: [search query], returns any RSS or Atom documents containing query terms. The RSS Weblog notes that this returns raw feed results displayed in .xml code. Clicking on the "Cached page" link will bring up a readable version.
The hasfeed operator, hasfeed: [search query], alerts users to sites with links to an RSS or Atom feed as well as results for the search terms.
Good gives some great example screen shots. Check them out here.
