BitTorrent.com To Launch Torrent Search Engine
In a move that is sure to please the entertainment industry, a search engine devoted to peer-2-peer file sharing is preparing to launch.
BitTorrent.com is set to introduce a search engine devoted to finding Torrent files and links. These Torrents are what facilitates the download process. By introducing a search engine to keep track of these files, locating pirated works, music or otherwise, will not be terribly difficult... especially if BitTorrent's search provides similar functionality as Google and Yahoo.
Not only do the MPAA and RIAA have another file sharing development to combat, but to make matters more difficult, this particular entity comes complete with an advertising model provided by Ask Jeeves.
By introducing a search engine with an advertising model in place, BitTorrent is certainly solidifying its position as a major player in the P2P arena, much to the delight of entertainment establishment, I'm sure.
The BitTorrent search engine is planning to link to any Torrent file, regardless if it's illegal or not. Thanks to thep2pweblog for pointing this out.
