Get Ready To Party With Yahoo

The company's first semi-public Hack Day for developers starts on September 29th, and the Delicious bookmarking service plans to throw a birthday part for itself on October 3rd.

Get Ready To Party With Yahoo
Hack Day Party At Yahoo's

Maybe this is all part of Yahoo's marketing blitz, only a more subtle approach than featuring Bono and The Edge in the Yahoo Current launch. Yahoo is opening up to outsiders with a couple of events, starting with Hack Day.

Formerly an internal-only affair, Hack Day will pair up Yahoos and outside developers invited to attend for a day of hacking, camping, and roasting code over an open compiler.

"We have no idea what's going to happen at Hack Day. We never do. We're pretty sure we'll be amazed," reads the event's site. They also remind invitees to RSVP PDQ ASAP to their invitations.

Delicious has a more open event planned for its birthday party. Just like the great tradition of J.R.R. Tolkien and Hobbit birthdays, Delicious plans to give out the presents:

So as promised, the del.icio.us bash will be on October 3 at Yahoo! HQ in Sunnyvale. Of course, we'll all be there, and we'll have food and swag in abundance.

If you're in the area, you don't really have a good excuse not to go- with great food, great company, and the lush ambiance of the Yahoo! Headquarters in Sunnyvale, what's not to love?

The Delicious team also requests a RSVP from partiers so they can plan the barbecue better. The limit is getting close to being reached, so check out the invitation if you want to attend.
